As the current health situation does not allow them to travel, our HILS students took part in a large-scale "online mobility", bringing together some sixty students and twenty teachers live for three days days in seven European countries (The Netherlands, Finland, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, and France). After presenting the situation in their own school in the presence of Mr. Lazare Pauper, DAREIC, the students, divided into international teams, worked during these three days on the impact of covid in connection with the themes studied in our project: mental health and well-being, self-image and danger of social networks, sport and physical activity, environment, diet and nutrition, relationships with others, and addictions. |

They were also able to attend conferences organized by each of the participating countries, obtain the results of a major European survey conducted among students to find out the impact of covid on their lives. Thanks to giant videoconferences, interactive workshops on self-image and the dangers of social networks, and even a sports session took place! But the highlight of this event was undoubtedly the pastry masterclass conducted online by Pastry woman-Chef Johanna LePape, world champion in the sweet arts, specialist in diet-pastry. The 70 students were then able to cook together and follow a live recipe of vegan and healthy cookies. What an amazing a moment! |
Real technical challenge, this event could not have taken place without the organization of our Dutch partner and project coordinator Pallas Athene College, nor the involvement of Mr. Mathieu Joostens, history-geography teacher and IT manager of the Jean Drouant high school. This has allowed our project to continue despite the current difficulties and the students to progress in English (common language for all activities), while getting to know their European classmates better, in an atmosphere that was alternately studious and festive. Pupils and teachers, delighted with this interactive European parenthesis, are now looking forward to seeing each other again, at a distance or, better, physically as soon as we can travel again. |
I've decided to participate to the online mobility because the project was very interesting to me: meeting new people, students from diffrent countries sounded fascinating ! During the online mobility we worked on a specific topic from the HILS project: for me it was addictions (drugs, alchool , video games etc...) But we also did some baking: we made cookies but not the normal cookies: healthy cookies without sugar ! We also did some sports but inside our classrooms. I preferred making cookies as we are from a hospitality and catering school: it was really a satisfying experience for all of us !!! The most surprising thing is that I have some new international friends. It was a lot of fun doing this project, we learned many things from each others, it was just unforgettable ..! — Shams, 18 |
For me participating in Erasmus was something to do because I met a lot of incredible people who all came from a different country. They each shared their point of view, we discussed online of course because we were during the corona crisis, we all hoped to travel and meet everyone in person but sadly coronavirus was so elevated that we had to stick to online meetings. As for Erasmus, it is something to do because you support your ideas and share them with other students from all around Europe. All the activities were interesting and fun, and discovering things from each different country united all the countries almost like if we were one. I would encouarge all the future students to participate because it unforgettable. Thank you for this fantastic experience ! — Mounzer, 18 |
