Since September 2019, Jean Drouant Hospitality and catering High School of Paris has been participating in an Erasmus + HILS (Healthy Inclusive Life Style through schools) project on the theme of academic success through health education for all. This project has been subsidized by European authorities and is coordinated by the Netherlands. Over a period of three years, it allows high school students from the STHR (Section of Hotel and Restaurant Technology) and their teachers to work with seven European schools and two public health institutes in England, in the Netherlands, in Spain, Finland, Slovenia, Italy (Sicily) and Portugal. All the work is done in English.
The first mobility took place in Slovenia from December 8 to 14, 2019 with 4 high school students and 2 teachers. In March 2021, Lycée Drouant, the only hospitality and catering high school in this project, had planned to welcome 70 students and teachers from the seven partner countries for a seven-day meeting on the theme of nutrition and dietetics as factors of well-being and school success. Unfortunately, this mobility could not take place due to the COVID pandemic. It has been replaced by online mobility. The adventure ended in June 2022 during a major ceremony organized by the project coordinating institution at Pallas Athene College in Ede, in the Netherlands. During that stay, students from all the countries presented the results of their work over 3 years.
Led by Élodie Cormier, project coordinator, English teacher and ERAEI (Referent Teacher for European and International Action), a team of teachers prepares students for these meetings, the idea being to allow as many students as possible to participate in a week-long stay in one of the partner countries.
Through this project, students will work on the following themes:
